Stationary Engineer (Buffalo Office) Part-time evenings, alternate Saturdays (days)

Job Summary

The incumbent in this position is responsible for monitoring the building mechanical systems and performing skilled, general maintenance as directed in order to provide a safe, healthy, and comfortable work environment for occupants. 

 

Nature and Scope

This position reports directly to the Facilities Foreman, and also receives direction from the Senior Facilities Engineer.  The incumbent interacts with the facilities, and guard staff, and others as necessary to perform job duties.  Positive and effective interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, are required in this position.

 

Education and Experience

High school diploma required.  Second Class Stationary Engineer’s license required.  City of Buffalo license preferred.  Two years full or equivalent part-time work experience with commercial or office building mechanical equipment, systems, methods, and materials to perform the following is required:

 

  ·   advanced heating (boiler) and cooling system operations

  ·   routine plumbing and electrical repairs

  ·   routine painting, carpentry and construction

  ·   proper safety practices, procedures and regulations applicable to work

  ·   experience with a proprietary computerized building mechanical controls and management system (preferred)

  ·   working knowledge and theory of  Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems (preferred)
